Esra Başar is a Research Assistant at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics. She earned her PhD in Mathematics from Istanbul University in 2021 and holds a Master's Degree (2021) and Undergraduate Degree (2019) from the same institution.
- Education: PhD in Mathematics (Istanbul University, 2021), Master's in Mathematics (2021), BSc in Mathematics (2019)
Her research focuses on geometric properties of Orlicz spaces, including extreme points, strict convexity, rotundity, and closedness of unit balls under various norms (s-norm, p-Amemiya norm). She investigates how these norms affect convexity and compactness in functional spaces.
Recent publications (2021–2025) analyze convexity under renorming, complex and real extreme points, and closedness properties in Orlicz spaces. Collaborations with Serap Öztop Kaptanoğlu and others appear in journals like Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications and Mathematische Nachrichten, alongside conference proceedings from events like the Georgian Mathematical Union Conference and TIFREFUS.
- Scientific Awards:
As a researcher in the ongoing TÜBİTAK 1001 project since 2024, she contributes to advancing Orlicz space theory. She is also a member of the Turkish Mathematical Association.
