Esma Aimeur

Esma Aïmeur is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Operational Research at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, University of Montreal. She directs the Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Laboratory and serves on multiple advisory boards including the Data Protection Committee of the University of Montreal.

Her research focuses on privacy-preserving AI and responsible cybersecurity, particularly examining:

• Phishing detection frameworks
• Privacy-by-design in mobile applications

Recent publications address LLM applications in scam detection, generative AI bias mitigation, and personality-aware recommendation systems. She actively collaborates with international institutions through the CRIHN center and IMC2 institute.
