Esa Chen

Esa Chen is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics, Monash University, specializing in health services research, medication safety, and health economics. She evaluates the clinical and cost-effectiveness of health technologies for public funding recommendations to PBAC and MSAC.

Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours and Doctor of Philosophy.

Research focuses on medication regimen complexity, pharmacy practice in aged care, and health equity. Collaborations include projects like PROMPT-RC intervention and cancer surrogate outcome evaluations for PBAC decisions.

Recent projects (2022-2025) include pharmacist-led interventions in aged care, cancer medicine trial monitoring, and vaccine efficacy evaluations. Over 22 peer-reviewed outputs address medication safety, anticoagulant risks, and longitudinal health behavior studies.
