Ertul Ortabas

Ertul Ortabas serves as a Research Associate and ERASMUS+ Subject Coordinator at the Center for Islamic Theology, University of Tübingen, while concurrently pursuing doctoral studies. He also holds the position of Chairman of the Doctoral Convention, supporting fellow candidates within the institution.

Ortabas' research centers on medieval Islamic theological responses to Christianity, particularly through analysis of Aḥmad b. ʿUmar al-Qurṭubī's works. His scholarly interests prioritize Islamic theology, Christian-Muslim relations, religious polemics, historical theology, and medieval Islamic intellectual history, demonstrated through presentations at institutions like the University of Osnabrück. As ERASMUS+ Subject Coordinator, he manages international academic exchanges, while his Doctoral Convention leadership involves advocacy and support for PhD candidates within the Center for Islamic Theology.
