Erlend Tiberg North is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Chemistry, affiliated with the Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN). He focuses on developing X-ray analysis methods for battery improvement and photon upconversion in thin films for hydrogen production. His roles include teaching in courses like MENA1001, KJM1121, and KJM1130, alongside student recruitment. He serves as a PhD representative at the Department of Chemistry and represents temporary academic staff on the Faculty Board.
Background: Holds a BSc and MSc in Materials Science for Energy and Nanotechnology. His master’s research involved organic sensitization of photon-upconverting thin films at NAFUMA. His work experience includes developing measurement techniques and educational software. He has held leadership roles in student committees, including KFUKjem (Department of Chemistry Student Committee) and MNSU (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Student Council).
Research Interests: Includes advanced structural characterization of materials, energy storage solutions, and photocatalytic systems. Collaborations emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable energy technologies.
