Dr. Erin Redihan serves as a Lecturer in the Department of History at Salve Regina University, where she teaches and mentors students in Cold War history, Olympic history, and Soviet Union studies. Her work bridges the gap between sports and international relations, focusing on how the Cold War shaped global athletic events and vice versa.

Dr. Redihan’s research interests center on the intersection of Cold War politics and sports, particularly the Olympic Games. Her work also extends to library services and their influence on community engagement.
Her publications from 2017 to 2024 analyze the Cold War’s influence on Olympic diplomacy, Soviet religious persecution, and the use of sports as a platform for political protest. Themes include human rights campaigns, the evolution of international boycotts, and the broader implications of sports in global politics.
Dr. Redihan actively collaborates with scholarly organizations such as the New England Journal of History and the North American Society for Sport History. She previously worked in public libraries for nearly 20 years and remains a local library trustee, advocating for innovative library services and worker morale.
