Erin Patrick is an Instructional Associate Professor at the University of Florida's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and serves as Undergraduate Coordinator. Her work focuses on electrophysics, biophysical modeling of electric-field effects on cells, semiconductor-device modeling, and neural interfaces. She holds a PhD (2010) and BSEE (2002) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.
Her research explores topics such as neural interface validation, radiation effects in electronics, and biomedical device design. Notable contributions include studies on tungsten electrode corrosion for neural recording and radiation damage simulations in GaN-based devices.
Publications span neural stimulation modeling, superconductor electronics, and biomedical electrode development. Recent work emphasizes deep brain stimulation (DBS) applications and nanostructured electrodes for in vivo stimulation. She was honored as Faculty of the Year (Student Choice) in 2024.
Her lab focuses on bioelectric communication and neural engineering, with expertise in implantable devices and electrochemical performance optimization. Collaborations include projects on flexible neural probes and high-density intraneural interfaces.
