Dr. Erin Nicholls is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Energy, and Environment at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Science, with a joint appointment in the School of Public Policy. She holds a PhD in Hydrology and Micrometeorology from McMaster University (2023), and MSc (2015) and BSc (2013) in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Her research examines micrometeorology and land surface interactions, cold regions hydrology, ecosystem reclamation, and carbon/water cycling and storage. She participates in the university's strategic initiatives on transdisciplinary research.
Recent publications focus on evaporation measurements in Lake Superior, permafrost catchment hydrology, and ecohydrological processes in boreal forests, demonstrating her expertise in climate-land surface interactions.
