Erin Mauldin is an instructor in the International History division of the Department of History & War Studies at the U.S. Military Academy. Her academic and military background focuses on historical analysis in complex geopolitical contexts.
Education:
- B.S. in History, U.S. Military Academy (2014)
- M.Phil. in Economic and Social History, University of Oxford (focus on 19th-century Afghanistan)
Her research interests span Economic History, Social History, International History, and Military History, with a regional specialization in Afghanistan Studies. She has served in active military roles, including deployments to Afghanistan (2019) and southeastern Europe (2022-2023), supporting operations such as Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.

Erin combines her academic work with operational military experience, including leadership roles in the 82nd Airborne Division and 101st Airborne Division. Outside her professional duties, she engages in rock climbing, mountaineering, and functional fitness.
