Erin Lockwood

Erin Lockwood is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Irvine. Her research examines international political economy, focusing on financial derivatives, regulatory politics, and global inequality. She received her PhD from Northwestern University and previously studied at American University.

Lockwood's work analyzes how financial systems reproduce power asymmetries and influence policy responses to crises. Her current book project investigates OTC derivatives markets and the construction of private financial authority.

She has published on topics including financial regulation, global wealth disparities, and the sociopolitical impacts of economic complexity. Her research received recognition in the Washington Post's 'best work in political economy' list.
