Dr. Erin Iverson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Minot State University, where she has been employed since Fall 2020. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she serves as the Learning Resource Center and Simulation Director, overseeing critical educational resources for nursing students.
Dr. Iverson earned her Master of Nursing from The University of Mary and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of North Dakota. With over 20 years of clinical nursing experience across multiple specialties, she brings extensive practical knowledge to her academic role.
Her professional interests focus on Nursing Education, Critical Care Nursing, Primary Care Nursing, Obstetric Nursing, and Simulation-Based Learning. As Simulation Director, she plays a key role in developing realistic clinical scenarios that prepare nursing students for real-world healthcare environments. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the bidirectional learning relationship between faculty and students, where she both shares her extensive clinical experience and learns from students' perspectives and experiences.
Dr. Iverson maintains an active role in nursing education through her directorship of the Learning Resource Center, where she oversees simulation equipment and resources essential for hands-on clinical training. Her background in multiple nursing specialties informs her comprehensive approach to curriculum development and student mentorship.
