Dr. Erin I. Smith serves as Professor of Psychology and Fletcher Jones Foundation Endowed Professor of Research at California Baptist University. Her work bridges developmental psychology, cognitive science, and religious studies, focusing on how individuals navigate reality boundaries between scientific and religious beliefs across the lifespan.
Her research examines cognitive, relational, and cultural influences on the science-religion dialogue, with emphasis on church as a developmental context for trauma-exposed children. She also applies cognitive principles to enhance critical thinking in higher education, particularly regarding science-faith integration in classroom settings.
