Erin Goley

Dr. Erin Goley is a Professor of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, with a joint appointment in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. She leads the Goley Lab, which focuses on bacterial cell biology, particularly mechanisms of growth, division, and stress responses in models like Caulobacter crescentus and Rickettsia parkeri. Her work integrates genetics, biochemistry, and imaging to explore how bacterial cytoskeletal proteins like FtsZ regulate cell wall synthesis and division, with implications for antibiotic development.
