Erin B. Corcoran is an Associate Teaching Professor at the Keough School of Global Affairs and Executive Director of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame. She also serves as a faculty fellow at the Klau Institute for Civil and Human Rights and the Pulte Institute for Global Development. Her expertise spans U.S. immigration law, refugee policy, human trafficking, and vulnerable migrant populations. Corcoran holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Philosophy/Religious Studies from Montana State University.
Her teaching focuses on forced migration, peace studies, and legal processes. She has led administrative roles at the Kroc Institute and Rudman Center, emphasizing public service and access to justice for underserved groups. Recent scholarly contributions include a 2023 book chapter on feminist legal judgments and a 2020 analysis of asylum systems in Africa. Corcoran has been featured in media such as Rolling Stone and Newsweek for her commentary on immigration policy. Her professional service includes roles at the Senate Appropriations Committee, Human Rights First, and UNHCR, reflecting her commitment to legal advocacy and systemic reform.
