Erika Olbricht

Erika Olbricht is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Writing Across the Curriculum at Case Western Reserve University, where she also oversees SAGES (Seminar Approach to General Education and Scholarship). She holds a PhD in English from the University of New Hampshire and an MA in Historic Gardens and Landscape Conservation from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. Her research focuses on early modern British theater by women, sericulture, apiculture, and landscape history, informed by her postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University in Agrarian Studies.

Teaching includes courses such as urban ecology (FSNA 126), landscape history and conservation (USNA 237), and suburban landscapes (USNA 220). She advises undergraduate SOURCE research projects related to urban/historic landscapes and ecology.

Her scholarly work bridges early modern literature and environmental studies, with publications on topics like 17th-century women’s drama and agricultural practices. She is actively involved in curriculum development and interdisciplinary academic programs.
