Erika Busse-Cardenas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Macalester College. Her research focuses on international migration, racialization, family dynamics, reproductive justice, and urban ethnography. She holds appointments in Carnegie Hall, Room 207A, and teaches courses like 'Sociology of Race and Ethnicity' and 'Immigrant Voices.'

Her research explores how migration shapes family structures, gender roles, and cultural identity. Current projects include studying Peruvian diasporic identities through folk dance and analyzing global-local dynamics in abortion policy shifts. Collaborative work on Chinese dance and ethnic identities was published in Sociology of Race and Ethnicity.
