معرفی
Erik van Loon is an Associate senior lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) in Mathematical Physics at the Department of Physics, Lund University, Sweden, and concurrently serves as a LINXS Fellow within the Quantum Materials theme, focusing on linking theory with experiments at LINXS, ESS and MAX IV.
His core research revolves around quantum materials, where he integrates advanced ab-initio modelling with neutron and x-ray scattering experiments to uncover fundamental phenomena in condensed-matter systems. His expertise spans mathematical physics, electronic structure theory, and the interpretation of spectroscopic data to understand emergent quantum phases.
Within the LINXS community he contributes to Working Group 1 on ab-initio modelling, fostering close collaboration between theorists and experimentalists to accelerate discovery of novel quantum states and their technological applications.
