Erik Røsæg is a Professor at the Department of Private Law, University of Oslo. His research spans Dynamic Property Law, Maritime Law, and legal aspects of the Arctic and Antarctic regions, with a focus on bankruptcy, mortgage law, and shipping decarbonization.
His recent work explores autonomous shipping liability, electronic land registration, and contractual risk distribution in green shipping. He actively contributes to debates on COLREG compliance, GHG emissions, and polar shipping regulations.
Projects and research groups include Oslo Forum for the Law of the Sea and Societal Security and Digital Identities (SODI), reflecting his interdisciplinary engagement with maritime safety and digital legal frameworks.
