Erik Lars Myrup is an Associate Professor of History and Director of Advising and Schedules at the University of Kentucky. He specializes in early modern global history, with a focus on Brazil, Latin America, Portuguese Asia, and cross-cultural encounters. A native of Salt Lake City, he holds degrees from Yale University (B.A., 1996; M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., 2006). He has taught at Connecticut College and the University of Northern Colorado, and held visiting fellowships at Portugal’s National Library, National Archive, and Yale’s Beinecke Library.
