Erik Grönqvist is a Professor of Health Economics at the Department of Medical Sciences, Uppsala University, and serves as Director of the Center for Health Economic Research (hefuu). He is also affiliated with the Department of Medical Cell Biology via the Peter Bergsten Research Group and holds a Senior Lecturer position at the Department of Economics.

Recent publications highlight quasi-experimental analyses of diabetes impacts on parental income, educational interventions like 'Lesson Study,' clinical care outcomes for myocardial infarction, and behavioral economics in healthcare incentives. As Director of hefuu, he leads health economics research initiatives. He has collaborated with institutions like IFAU and Stockholm School of Economics, contributing to policy evaluations in education, labor, and public health.
