Erik Dahl Kjær serves as Professor in the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Science. His research focuses on forest genetics and climate adaptation, leading the Forest Genetics and Diversity research group studying over 25 European tree species including Quercus, Fraxinus, Tilia, and Pinus. He manages the Hørsholm Arboretum (Denmark's national arboretum with 1,500+ woody species) and maintains international collaborations with West Africa and India on tropical species.
His research interests integrate genomic techniques with dendroecology to address climate challenges.
