Ericka Freeman

Ericka Freeman is an Associate Professor in Practice and Social Work Program Field Director at The University of Texas at Tyler. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work (2004) specializing in Children and Families, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism) with a Minor in Economics (1994), both from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Her research focuses on interpersonal relationships, social work professional empowerment, and child welfare system disparities. She leads community initiatives addressing identity reformation post-sexual assault trauma via a CHIRP grant collaboration with the 1 in 3 Foundation and UT Tyler Sociology Department.
