Erick Eschker is a Professor and Chair of the Economics Department at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. His research focuses on regional economic analysis, cannabis policy, real estate, health care economics, entrepreneurship, and generational accounting.
Eschker directs the Humboldt Economic Index, tracking regional economic trends in housing, manufacturing, and retail. As co-founder of the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research, he examines cannabis industry economics and policy impacts. Research extends to rural entrepreneurship, water conservation economics, electricity demand patterns, and market competition in energy sectors.
Publications include studies on cannabis industry perspectives, wastewater management adaptation, rural entrepreneurship indicators, and marijuana legalization economics. Recent projects examine hemp industry development and cannabis job creation supported by state agencies.
