Technical University of Munichمعرفی
Prof. Dr. Erich Glawischnig is a Senior Lecturer and Group Leader at the Professorship of Microbial Biotechnology at TUM Campus Straubing. His research focuses on plant cytochrome P450 enzymes, genome editing, and metabolic networks of plant secondary metabolites. He received his doctorate and habilitation from TU Munich, with prior roles including leading a Heisenberg research group (2012–2017) before joining TUM Straubing in 2017.
Research Interests: His work explores functional characterization of P450 enzymes, metabolic protein complexes, and camalexin biosynthesis pathways. Key projects include analyzing the role of CYP71 family enzymes in plant defense mechanisms and elucidating tryptophan-derived compound networks.
Awards:
- Heisenberg Fellowship (2012)
- EMBO Fellowship (2000)
- Hans Fischer Prize (1998)
Grants & Labs: Active in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology projects, collaborating on initiatives like the Green Fuel Center and SynBioFoundry@TUM. His lab focuses on microbial biotechnology applications in sustainable processes.
