Erica Johnson Rose is a Visiting Professor at the Southern University Law Center (SULC), where she teaches Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Professional Responsibility. She is also a practicing attorney, maintaining a private law practice in New Iberia, LA, and serves as a felony criminal defense attorney with the 16th Judicial Public Defenders Office. Her legal career includes 12 years as an Assistant District Attorney specializing in sex crimes and felony DWIs/vehicular homicides, as well as roles as a City Prosecutor and law clerk for Judge Lori A. Landry.
- Education: BS (cum laude, Southern University, 1997), MLS (LSU, 1999), JD & Bachelor of Civil Law (Paul M. Hebert Law Center, LSU, 2006).
- Professional Roles: Adjunct legal instructor for law enforcement POST academies, Louisiana State Disciplinary Board member (appointed by Chief Justice John Weimer), and active community leader (Leadership St. Mary Parish, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority).
