Erica Barnett

Erica Barnett is an Associate Professor of Teacher Education at St. Norbert College, instructing and mentoring pre-service teachers pursuing K-12 certification. Drawing from her experience as a Wisconsin public school teacher, she develops pedagogies that transcend rote learning to cultivate culturally responsive, reflective educators who thrive in classroom environments.

Her 2018-2023 publications reveal consistent focus on textual and visual representation of religious women in history education, exposing patterns of marginalization, racial stereotyping, and passive portrayals through rigorous content analysis. This work demonstrates clear progression from examining general women's visibility to specific analyses of race, religion, and historical agency in educational materials.
