Erica Aguero is an Assistant Professor at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Chapman University. Her research explores the intersection of contemporary media with culture and society, focusing on gender, race, class, sexuality, media fandom, and trans-mediation across platforms like comics, film, television, games, and emerging technologies.

Research Focus
Dr. Aguero's work examines cross-media circulation of popular music in film, television, and digital environments. Her ongoing book project, Music That Moves, investigates popular music's role in media industrial travel and consumer agency. She also studies media aesthetics, genre evolution, and fan-driven cultural dynamics.
Professional Experience
Prior to Chapman University, she taught film and media courses at UCLA, UC Irvine, and Otis College of Art and Design in Southern California.
