Dr. Eric Winer is the Alfred Gilman Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology, Director of Yale Cancer Center, and President/Physician-in-Chief of Smilow Cancer Hospital. He specializes in breast cancer, leading clinical trials and advancing HER2-positive disease treatments. Educated at Yale College and Yale School of Medicine, he trained at Duke and Harvard before returning to Yale in 2022. His research focuses on translational oncology, team-based approaches to accelerate cancer care, and health equity. He has published over 600 articles and mentored 30+ trainees, earning awards like the Jill Rose Award and Brinker Award. Dr. Winer chairs the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board and serves on ASCO’s Board. His work integrates clinical and basic science to improve outcomes globally.
