Eric Stone

Prof Eric Stone is a Professor in the Biological Data Science Institute at The Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on genetics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics with applications in plant pathology and agricultural science. He leads interdisciplinary projects involving genomic analysis of pathogens, crop improvement, and computational methods for biological data.

Key areas of expertise include haplotype analysis, spatial transcriptomics, and multi-modal data integration for crop science. He collaborates with international teams on projects like oat crown rust pathogen dynamics and fungal community composition analysis. Active in training initiatives through ANU's research programs and the ARC Training Centre in Plant Biosecurity.

Prof Stone has secured major grants including the Analytics for the Australian Grains Industry (AAGI) and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Mathematical Analysis of Cellular Systems.
