Eric S. Dart serves as Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Philosophy/Theology Department, teaching courses including Theology of Church, Vatican II, Theology of Marriage and Sexuality, and the Theology of Karl Rahner. His educational credentials include a B.S. and M.A. from Gannon University and a Ph.D. from Duquesne University.
His scholarly focus centers on Catholic theology, ecumenism, and the works of Karl Rahner. He maintains active membership in professional societies including the College Theology Society, Catholic Theological Society of America, Karl Rahner Society, and American Academy of Religion.
Dart's publications examine ecumenical dimensions of Rahner's theology and challenges to Christian unity. His 2018 special edition of Religions on 'Ecumenical Ecclesiology' demonstrates ongoing engagement with contemporary ecclesial challenges. Conference presentations have addressed topics ranging from subsidiarity and masculinity to racial justice in ministry.
