Eric P. Bettinger is a Professor of Economics at Stanford University, holding appointments at both the Graduate School of Education and the Graduate School of Business. He is also co-director of the Leman Center for Entrepreneurship and Educational Innovation, faculty director of the Center for Educational Policy Analysis, and an affiliate of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. In 2022, he received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Zurich in recognition of his outstanding contributions to educational economics and evidence-based policy.
His research spans educational economics, econometric methodology, and policy evaluation, with a focus on using randomized field experiments to assess the causal impact of educational interventions. He has significantly influenced both academic research and real-world policy across industrialized and developing countries.
Prof. Bettinger has advised the White House, U.S. state governments, international foundations, and non-profit organizations. He has also maintained a long-standing collaboration with the University of Zurich, serving on the Advisory Board of the Leading House for Education Economics and teaching doctoral courses at the Institute of Business Administration.
