Eric Michielssen

Eric Michielssen is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, where he has been affiliated since August 2005. Previously, he served as a Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) from 1993 to 2005.

  • First Licentiate in Economic Sciences, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (1988)

Research Interests: Computational electromagnetics, fast integral equation-based solvers, electromagnetic and optical system design, and robust design paradigms. His work spans applications in antennas, filters, electromagnetic interference/compatibility, and plasmonic devices.

Affiliations: Associate Director of the Center for Computational Electromagnetics at UIUC and affiliate of the Beckman Institute at UIUC from 1994 to present.
