Eric Lesniewska is a Professor in Biophysics at the University of Burgundy, where he is affiliated with the Nanosciences Department within the Health Science Faculty. He holds dual administrative roles as Assessor of Pedagogy and Assessor of Finance in the Health Science Faculty Board. His research activities are centered at the ICB UMR CNRS 6303, specifically within the Nanosense Lab Team.
Professor Lesniewska's research focuses on the intersection of biophysics and nanoscience, with particular expertise in developing advanced microscopy techniques for biological applications. His work bridges physics, nanotechnology and biological sciences, with significant implications for understanding biological structures at the nanoscale level and developing novel imaging methodologies.
Based at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, he maintains his office in room DR08 and conducts experimental work in specialized laboratory spaces DS12, DS14, and DS21-DS25 at the university's facility located at 9 Av. Savary – BP 47870 – 21078 Dijon.
His academic career demonstrates steady progression through the ranks, beginning with a postdoctoral position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, followed by positions as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and ultimately Professor in Biophysics since 2006, reflecting his substantial contributions to the field.
Through the Nanosense Lab Team, Professor Lesniewska leads research efforts applying nanotechnology approaches to solve complex biological problems, with particular emphasis on developing instrumentation for biological imaging and DNA analysis at the molecular level.
