Eric Katz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on Combinatorial Algebraic Geometry, Arithmetic Geometry, and Tropical Geometry. He previously held positions at the University of Waterloo and Duke University, and completed his PhD at Stanford University. His work bridges algebraic geometry with combinatorial structures, contributing to foundational results like the proof of the Heron-Rota-Welsh conjecture on matroid log-concavity. His research also intersects Diophantine geometry and matroid theory.
