Eric Kam

Eric Kam is a Professor and Director of the Economics and Finance Undergraduate Program at Toronto Metropolitan University's Department of Economics. He holds a Ph.D. from York University (2000). His expertise spans Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, and International Monetary Economics, with a focus on policy implications of monetary growth and economic stability. He has published extensively on topics such as monetary policy non-neutrality, exchange rate regimes, and the impact of R&D and advertising on high-tech industries.

His research interests include analyzing the long-run effects of monetary policy, the role of financial systems in economic development, and the interplay between endogenous time preferences and economic behavior. Recent work explores the effectiveness of flexible exchange rates in small open economies and the theoretical foundations of monetary models like the Alternative Monetary Model (AMM).
