Eric J. Morser is a faculty member in the History Department at Skidmore College, where he has taught since 2009. His research and teaching focus on diverse aspects of American history, including early America, the American West, indigenous peoples, labor movements, environmental history, and utopian thought.

Dr. Morser's scholarship bridges urban history and social movements. His first book, Hinterland Dreams, explored the political economy of Midwestern cities and earned nominations for prestigious awards. His 2017 work, The Fires of New England, examined protest and rebellion in Antebellum America, while his ongoing project Dreaming America traces utopian thought from colonial times to the present.
He teaches courses on early America, the American West, indigenous history, labor culture, environmental history, gender studies, and radicalism. As Faculty Director of Civic Engagement, he leads initiatives like the Bridge Experience, which emphasizes diversity in contemporary American society. His work with public school educators highlights his commitment to pedagogical outreach.
