Eric Gaume

Eric Gaume is a Professor at Gustave Eiffel University and Director of the Geotechnics, Environment, and Natural Risks department (GERS). He previously served at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and the Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural des Eaux et des Forêts. His research focuses on urban hydrology, flood risk assessment, and flash flood dynamics. He has led major European projects like FLOODsite and HYMEX, contributing to flood forecasting and disaster management. Gaume has authored 80+ scientific articles and serves on national committees, including the French flood forecasting service (SCHAPI). His work integrates hydrological modeling, Bayesian statistics, and interdisciplinary approaches for risk mitigation.
