Eric Feldman is Professor of Law and Professor of Medical Ethics & Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he holds the Heimbold Chair in International Law and serves as Deputy Dean for Global Engagement. His interdisciplinary scholarship bridges law, public health, and ethics, with a regional focus on Japan.
His research interests include Japanese law, comparative public health law, torts, legal culture, and bioethics. He examines how legal systems respond to public health crises such as HIV/AIDS, smoking/vaping, and disasters like Fukushima, often analyzing rights, dispute resolution, and policy effectiveness across jurisdictions.
