Eric Coley

Dr. Eric Coley is a Clinical Associate Professor and Chair of Physical Therapy at Emory & Henry University's School of Health Sciences. He serves as the DCE (Director of Clinical Education) for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and holds leadership roles in admissions, curriculum development, and faculty searches. A native of Southwest Virginia, he practices clinically and actively engages with regional healthcare initiatives through organizations like the Smyth County Health Trust.

• Education: Ed.D candidate in Higher Education Administration (University of Florida), DPT (Duke University, 2007), BS in Athletic Training (Emory & Henry, 2004).

Research focuses on graduate student preparedness linked to dual enrollment credits and strategies to combat childhood obesity in Southwest Virginia. He oversees clinical immersion courses and full-time clinical experiences for DPT students, maintaining strong ties with local clinical sites. Recognized as an APTA credentialed clinical instructor, he has mentored numerous students through clinical rotations.
