Eric C. Sung

Dr. Eric C. Sung is a Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry. He serves as Chair of the Section of Special Patient Care and Maxillofacial Prosthetics and is the inaugural holder of the Momentum Endowed Chair in Special Patient Care. His clinical practice is based in the maxillo-facial clinic at UCLA in CHS A0-156.

Dr. Sung earned his B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley (1986), followed by a D.D.S. from UCLA (1990), and completed a two-year General Practice and Hospital Dentistry Residency at UCLA (1992).

His research focuses on dental materials and the treatment of medically complex patients, particularly those with cancer, cardiac conditions, and other systemic diseases. Dr. Sung's work bridges the gap between medicine and dentistry, emphasizing integrated healthcare approaches for vulnerable patient populations. His research spans multiple disciplines including oncology dentistry, cardiac dentistry, and pharmacological complications in dental care.
