Eric C. Bielefeld is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University. He holds appointments in the College of Arts and Sciences and oversees academic leadership within the department. His primary affiliations include 112A Pressey Hall, Columbus, OH.

Research focuses on inner ear pathology caused by noise exposure, ototoxic drugs, and aging. Key areas include developing therapeutic strategies to protect against hearing loss. His work is conducted in the Auditory Physiology Lab. Teaching responsibilities include graduate-level courses in Anatomy and Physiology of the Hearing Mechanism and Hearing Conservation, as well as the undergraduate Neurology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism course.
