Eric Amazeen

Eric Amazeen is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Arizona State University, serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies. His research focuses on the intersection of perception and action, particularly through ecological and dynamical systems approaches.

Amazeen's research explores weight perception, the size-weight illusion, visual attention in coordinated tasks, and intermodal interactions between vision and touch. His work often employs nonlinear dynamics and fractal analysis (e.g., 1/f noise) to study perceptual-motor coordination.

He contributes to cognitive science through service roles, including as founding member of the Dynamics of Perception, Action, and Cognition lab since 2000, and as ad-hoc reviewer for numerous journals like Experimental Brain Research and Journal of Motor Behavior since 2010.
