Prof. Dr. Erhan TUNA is a prominent academic and theater practitioner serving as Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design and Chair of the Acting Department at Doğuş University. He holds a Professorship in Acting and has held academic leadership roles since 1989. His career spans universities like Anadolu University, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, and Yeni Yüzyıl University, where he established the Acting Department. He earned his PhD from Ankara University, specializing in Theater Studies.
His education includes a BA in Theater from Ankara University’s Faculty of Language, History, and Geography, followed by MA and PhD studies there. He has directed and performed in major theater productions such as Kafkas Tebeşir Dairesi (2024), Troyalı Kadınlar (2023), and Hırçın Kız (2022), focusing on classical adaptations and modern social themes. His book Şamanlık ve Oyunculuk (2000) explores connections between shamanism and performance art.
His research interests include traditional Turkish theater, sources of theater, and dramaturgy. Beyond academia, he actively participates in theater festivals and educational initiatives, emphasizing the intersection of performance arts and cultural critique.
