Erhan Genç

Erhan Genç is a Professor of Neuroscientific Foundations of Differential Psychology at TU Dortmund University, where he also holds a joint position at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (IfADo). He leads a research group focused on understanding individual differences in cognitive functions through advanced neuroimaging techniques.

His research examines neuronal correlates of cognitive variation using multimodal approaches including 7T MRI, EEG/fMRI integration, TMS/fMRI, diffusion-weighted imaging, and neurogenetic methods. This work bridges differential psychology with cutting-edge neuroscience to understand personality and cognitive diversity.

Before joining TU Dortmund, Dr. Genç was a research assistant in Biopsychology at Ruhr University Bochum (2012-2020) and became group leader at IfADo in 2020. He earned his doctorate in Psychology from the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research and Goethe University Frankfurt in 2012, following his Diploma in Psychology from the University of Mannheim in 2008.
