معرفی
Ercument Dirice is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at New York Medical College (NYMC) and a leading researcher in pancreatic beta-cell biology. With prior affiliations at Joslin Diabetes Center and Harvard Medical School, he focuses on beta-cell heterogeneity and survival mechanisms in diabetes.
- M.S. and Ph.D. in Medical Genetics from Akdeniz University
- Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Associate at Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School
His research investigates how beta-cell heterogeneity contributes to stress resistance and diabetes progression, particularly through G protein-coupled receptors. Key methodologies include transgenic mouse models, islet transplantation, and single-cell genomics.
Recent publications highlight discoveries in DYRK1A inhibition for beta-cell proliferation, GPR75 deficiency in obesity resistance, and 20-HETE signaling in cardiometabolic disease. His lab employs advanced techniques like top-down proteomics and single-nucleus RNA-seq to decode islet adaptation mechanisms.
