Dr. Ercument Akat is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Yeditepe University since 2002. He holds a PhD in Physics from Boğaziçi University (2000), with research focused on solid-state physics and materials science. His work includes studies on amorphous chalcogenide films, superconductivity, and biomechanical dynamics. He has authored multiple books including "Katıhal Fiziği Temelleri", which received a prestigious award from TÜBA.

Research Interests: Solid-state materials characterization, quantum mechanics fundamentals, superconductivity phenomena, and applied biomechanics. His recent work explores dielectric properties of nanostructured materials and human movement dynamics in mass events.

Advising & Grants: Supervised 7 graduate theses including studies on Heisenberg uncertainty principle, graphene-based magnetoresistance, and double pendulum oscillations. Active in experimental physics research with projects on polythiophene nanoparticles and MOS capacitor characterization.
