Enrique Tamés

Enrique Tamés serves as Professor in the Department of Strategy and Leadership at EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey. With over 32 years of continuous service at the institution, he has held significant leadership positions including Department Director, Dean of the School of Humanities and Education, and Director of the Monterrey International Book Fair. Prior to his current appointment, he directed the Human Flourishing Projects and served as Regional Vice-Rector and Director of the Institute of Happiness Sciences at Tecmilenio University.

His academic background includes:

• Doctorate in Innovation and Educational Technology from Tecnológico de Monterrey
• Master's in Education with specialization in Humanities from Tecnológico de Monterrey
• Bachelor's in Philosophy from UNAM and Intercontinental University

Tamés' research centers on Human Flourishing, examining elements that foster optimal human development across personal, communal, and systemic dimensions. His work bridges philosophical inquiry with scientific investigation of well-being and happiness, incorporating perspectives from positive psychology, leadership studies, and educational technology. He has developed expertise in bibliometric analysis of conceptual frameworks related to human development.

His recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on mapping the conceptual landscape of human flourishing through bibliometric reviews, text mining of social media discourse, and theoretical examinations of spirituality within flourishing frameworks. The research trajectory shows increasing methodological sophistication combining quantitative bibliometrics with qualitative philosophical analysis.

Tamés currently leads a significant research project funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation and Tec de Monterrey to map Human Flourishing studies across Latin America. His teaching encompasses undergraduate and graduate leadership courses along with doctoral research seminars. He has developed specialized expertise through certifications in coaching (Gallup and Newfield Consulting) and Appreciative Inquiry (Case Western Reserve University), complemented by his Singularity University background.

His institutional affiliations extend to visiting scholar positions at the Getty Institute and Loyola University Chicago, plus visiting professorships at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Yale University.
