Enrique Alegre Gutiérrez serves as a Full Professor and Head of the Research Group for Vision and Intelligent Systems (GVIS) at the Department of Electrical, Systems, and Automation, University of León, Spain.

His academic credentials include a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cantabria (1994) and a Ph.D. from the University of León (2000), where his doctoral thesis focused on content-based image retrieval systems supervised by Dr. Ángel Alonso Álvarez and Dr. Eduardo Mora Monte.
