Schloss Dagstuhl - Leibniz Center for Informaticsمعرفی
Enrico Rukzio is a Professor at the University of Ulm, affiliated with the Department of Media Informatics. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with a strong emphasis on automated vehicles, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) interfaces. Key areas include external communication systems for autonomous vehicles, user experience optimization via Bayesian methods, and tangible interaction design for personal fabrication. He has contributed to over 300 publications in top venues like CHI, UIST, and AutomotiveUI.
His work addresses challenges in cooperative intelligent transportation systems, thermal comfort estimation in vehicles, and digital eye strain in VR. Notable projects include AutoTherm (thermal dataset), OptiCarVis (automated vehicle visualization), and PlantPal (agriculture robotics). Recent studies explore cross-traffic interaction design, implicit interaction in automated vehicles, and the impact of AR on personal information sovereignty.
Rukzio's research also spans digital well-being, examining infinite scrolling behavior and gaze-based interaction. He collaborates widely, with co-authors like Mark Colley and Jan Gugenheimer. His contributions bridge academia and industry, addressing real-world issues in automated systems, healthcare, and urban mobility.
