Enrico Bassetti is a researcher in the Cybersecurity group at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Netherlands. Previously, he held a researcher position at the Department of Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome. He earned his Ph.D. in 2023 under Prof. Emanuele Panizzi, focusing on network and protocol security. His research includes developing distributed systems for earthquake early warning using IoT-based machine learning and resilient privacy-first sensor networks.
Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science (2023, Sapienza University), Master’s in Cybersecurity (2019, Sapienza University, cum laude).
Research Interests: Network security, IoT security, machine learning applications in sensor data, privacy-preserving distributed systems, and resilient infrastructure. His work bridges theoretical cybersecurity with practical implementations in real-world systems like disaster early warning systems.
Teaching & Supervision: Experience as a teaching assistant and supervisor of undergraduate research projects and internships/theses. He has also conducted training sessions on Linux containers and security.
Industry Experience: Over a decade as a system architect consultant, DevOps advocate, and system/network administrator.
Awards: Cum Laude Master’s Degree (2019).
